MSMilan2023 Late-Breaking Abstract Program

latebreaking

Before 24-hour news channels, the only time programming was interrupted was for extremely urgent news such as an impending disaster, a severe weather event, or, in some cases, the assassination of a U.S. president (which prompted the first use of lower thirds in television). But, even then, the newscaster had to be prepared to interrupt at any moment, and could expect a horde of reporters rushing in with their cameras and microphones to be ready to start filming live.

Similarly, the Late-Breaking Abstract program recognizes research developments that have become available for public dissemination only after the regular abstract submission deadline. These developments should be of critical importance to the clinical/scientific community and can be presented at the conference. They must be novel, not just a new version of existing research or an extension of previously published work. In order to be considered a late-breaking abstract, the author must include a justification on the Questionnaire submission page explaining why the data and/or results of their study were not made available prior to the original abstract submission deadline.

The Late-Breaking Abstracts are selected for oral platform presentations in a dedicated session during the MSMilan2023 Congress. This is a unique opportunity to receive exposure and recognition for major randomized trials or registries that will likely influence the clinical practice of multiple sclerosis.
